Is there a perc synth that generates variations / round robins? (in: Instruments)

Which you can achieve by randomising the velocity of each note. I find round-robin in drums is generally too subtle for anyone to notice, where randomising velocity creates far more noticeable variations. Ferrum, for example, does round-robin and whether it’s turned on or off, I can’t hear any difference, even if I solo the channel. OTOH, variations in velocity become noticeable, even when applied subtly. It’s weird because I’d expect my drum effects to even out differences in level but it doesn…
