finite element – Do meshfree FEM techniques offer any advantages for electromagnetic solvers for problems with dielectric and ferromagnetic regions?

It is straightforward to apply standard FEM methods to static electromagnetic problems which involve electrically and magnetically polarizable materials.

In some cases a challenge is getting the generation of meshes that are sufficiently dense in all the right places without being overly dense where it’s not helpful, but there are tools for that too.

Recently I’d heard of meshfree methods which seem particularly useful to media that move (e.g. fluid dynamics). I was wondering if they offer any advantages for electromagnetic solvers for problems with dielectric and ferromagnetic regions?
