It looks to me as if there still is a fairy tale in circulation:
There is still no platform-independent plugin format existing… (what on the other hand would be astonishing for me, if it existed). Why though such dis-information can be found quite often is a miracle for me and let me suspect, that perhaps the advertisement might be more effective than common sense… together with experience.
I do not even refer to a specific plugin, because the topic is “general platform independence” – and …
