Can't export/import sequencer projects (in: Roger Linn Design)

I’m trying to export sequencer projects to my laptop using the updater app, then import them back. The updater says it was successful, but the notes aren’t there.

I reset the Linnstrument via Global settings col 16
I turn on the sequencer for the left split
I put some notes in the sequencer
I press SETTINGS to get the load/save menu
I save those notes in project #1 by long-pressing that pad
I load the empty project #2 by short-pressing it, and verify the notes are gone
