I’ve started having similar issues in other programs. The limited information I’ve been able to gather seems to point to Windows after updates. I’ve just recently found out that Windows has deactivated the logical cores and some reading I’ve found has also shown that it feels most apps really don’t need multicore use and forces them to a single core.
Personal conspiracy theory is they’ve done this to force us to upgrade our computer…
