It’s just bad code. Simple as that. No matter how complex it looks, it shouldn’t take any extra CPU cycles (or at the most a tiny minimal fraction of a %) just because it looks pretty.
Unfortunately Kazrog code isn’t always the most reliable. I’ve had quite a bit of problems with their plugins in terms of UI responsiveness and other weirdness. This plugin is no different.
