Normally there’s nothing to it with Windows and MIDI. The general rule is that only one app can open a MIDI device at once. MuLab – New – “MuLab” menu -> “MIDI Setup” lets you see the MIDI devices Windows thinks you have by what name it thinks they’re known as. So for USB devices, that’s usually pretty obvious (my nanoKontrol is called, wait for it … … “nanoKontrol”).
