Thanks for the details on the circuit. 

It is possible to modify this circuit to generate positive and negative current drive for operation. Splitting the supply into +-12V could  be helpful for achieving this. 

Quick question, I see this thread is under the product OPA564. Do you want to create this variable current source with a power amp like OPA564, or are you wanting to use external transistors with a precision amplifier? +-2A would not be possible with just a single OPA564.

Would this 200mH load be ground referenced? Do you know how accurate you need this current to be?
