Did you try notation that exist in Reaper?
– but might be limited to notes pretty much, and not so much expressive stuff that give automation at the same time
– but don’t take my word for it, check manual for Reaper which is really good
Most daws like Sonar(very limited), but Cubase, StudioOne and Samlitude have built in notation.
Look for ReWire support in notation software, then it could be linked into many daws like Reaper ,as well. But if you can use notation features to produce automation…
