Python3 program pulseaudio-dlna complains about utils.git module missing

I installed a program from git (pulseaudio-dlna) which other people obviously have gotten running. When I run it, I get an error that the “utils.git” module is not found:

I’m running AlmaLinux 9, and performed the following commands to download, install, and run pulseaudio-dlna:

git clone https://github.com/masmu/pulseaudio-dlna.git
cd pulseaudio-dlna
(edit Makefile and change python variable to equal python3)
make install
pulseaudio-dlna

What is going wrong?
