Sonible SmartEQ vs Gulfoss vs Ozone 11 ? – Effects Forum
Very different tools for different purposes. Sonible is an AI based EQ that adjusts frequencies based on genre. It can also be used in a sub group setting (for example, for drums and percussion) to duck certain frequencies and push others forward. You can also use it ‘just’ as an EQ by clicking on nodes and making adjustments. It is quite powerful in the right hands, and even has a dynamic EQ mode. It is not a magic bullet that fixes everything. G’foss is more subtle and is best used on an already good mix to nudge it into the ‘sounds like a record’ domain. It is a complimentary processor, not essential, but useful if you know what you are doing. Ozone is similar to Sonible, but different, if you know what I mean. None of these tools will ‘give’ you a finished product, and all of them will, if you have a strong basic mix with good levels and balance.
