Serum has an additive engine, so you can actually resynthesize samples, although you need to do additional processing. The reason I bought Icarus2 was exactly for that purpose, because it’s far easier and gets better results than Synplant 2 or Serum. I think Synplant 2 is also really good if you want samples converted into a basic synthesizer preset and not wavetables.
You can always transfer wavetables into different wavetable synthesizers, but you can’t do that with Synplant 2.
