ubuntu – Wireshark can not capture packets between two bridged vms of Virtualbox on host machine

Environment:

  • Host machine: Ubuntu 22.04
  • Virtualbox: 7.0.10
  • Guest machine: Ubuntu 22.04
  • Guest machine’s NIC mode is Bridge, with Promiscuous Mode is Allow All
  • Host machine’s NIC is in promiscuous mode too.

Guest machine’s NIC mode:

Phenomena:

  1. Wireshark on Host can capture packets of VM ping Host
  2. Wireshark on VM can capture packets of VM ping VM
  3. Wireshark on Host can not capture packets of VM ping VM
  4. Wireshark on Host captures some packets of VM ping Gateway when VM1 is pinging VM2

So, I need help with the above phenomenon 3 and 4.
