Cache (and IRIS) ODBC installation on Redhat/CentOS

I have a copy of Cache.5.0.21.ODBC-6408-linux.tar which I have cause to install to a CentOS host.  When I unpack the tarball, I have an “ODBCInstall” executable. which, well, doesn’t appear to do a great deal other than set a few file permissions on the unpacked files and create a system link to the bundled iODBC driver manager library.

Can anyone point me at an installation and configuration document or describe the steps I should be taking to install the driver and configure it?

I will also have need to do the same for an IRIS driver, but one problem at a time!

Perhaps slightly alarmingly, the app that needs this driver seems to expect the unixODBC driver manager, rather than the iODBC manager bundled with the cache driver…

Any help appreicated!
