Solved: E810 NIC in Centos 7.9 Dell R440 spews error unless both ports have link

I shut the interface on my switch (Arista 25G) going to p2p2, then a few seconds later these start spewing until I “no shut” the interface on the switch:

Either port will do this, so how can I use these cards with single SFP setup?
