Static bursts | OBS Forums

I have connected a VCR’s red, white & yellow plugs via an adaptor to my MacBook Pro that is running High Sierra 10.13.6 and am trying to digitize some old VCR tapes. I completed a couple of dozen several weeks ago and have another batch to do. The first batch went well and all of the tapes converted fine. For some reason, I have not been able to reconnect things correctly this time because the audio has static bursts mixed in with the recorded sound that make it impossible to listen to without running from the room screaming. I have spent 2 snowy afternoons trying to figure this out, but I need help. What do I need to do to get clean sound like I did with the first batch of conversions?
