There are quite a few testimonials (on a post I haven’t found yet, alas – I’ll keep trying) that go in the same direction as yours.
From memory, it’s really recommended to keep the default location, say the “C” (or other) disk.
Or, to try, and this is the basic idea: that MuseScore Studio be installed on the same disk. So, both on a “C” disk (let’s say), or both on a “D” disk, but not one on “C” and the other on “D”, or vice versa : )

I’m not sure it makes a difference, though, what OS are you running?
